Franklin “Buddy” Fuda is a Professor of Pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Ohio University and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical School. He also completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at UTSW, where he was mentored by Drs. Robert McKenna and Steven Kroft.
Dr. Fuda has served as the medical director of the Clinical Flow Cytometry laboratories at UTSW and Parkland Memorial Hospital for over 20 years, with a primary focus on clinical flow cytometry. He has co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications related to his field. Throughout his career, Dr. Fuda has been involved in various national and international committees and programs that emphasize education, quality, and regulation. He has served as an instructor at UTSW Medical School and as a member on the American Society of Clinical Pathology’s Resident Question Bank committee. Currently, he is a member of the International Clinical Cytometry Society’s Educational Committee and the College of American Pathologists’ Diagnostic Immunology and Flow Cytometry Committee. Additionally, he serves as a CAP inspector for the National Laboratory Accreditation Program.
